Typo PAGE

Typo-PAGE-Cover.jpg

After five long years a new TypoPAGE came out. And hey: We did the cover!

The completely hand lettered sujet was produced as a rubber plate, which was later photographed and colored. (We could have gone for some photoshop effect action instead, but C’MON!)

Above is our first TypoPAGE cover concept. We intended to produce a plastic toy world including fitted hand lettering. It should later be produced as a three-dimensional rubber plate. However, PAGE’s art direction decided that this would not attract the main target group.

We tried to introduce some “more serious” letterforms, but the whole concept began to become weak. As a consequence we started from scratch and Tom made one of his famous fingernail size sketches which later on became the final product.

Thanks to Gabriele Günder of PAGE for this honorable assignment.
